Throughout the Museum This six-week course for K-12 teachers explores best practices for museum and arts education through a combination of art-making, visual arts literacy, and interaction with Brooklyn-based artists and museum professionals. Take a behind-the-scenes look at the Brooklyn Museum's galleries, resources, and programs, and develop lesson plans, inspired by the Museum's collection, that support the diverse needs and learning styles of your students. Gain engaging, multi-modal strategies for facilitating meaningful interactions with art, and design classroom studio experiences that build skills for analyzing, interpreting, and creating works of art. This course will illuminate each strand of the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Visual Arts.Course Type: P Credit (3)Dates and Times: Saturdays, March 10, 24, and 31; April 21; and May 5 and 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.Fee: $375 ($125 ASPDP registration fee plus $250 Brooklyn Museum course fee)The fee includes art materials and lunch at each session.
