Face The Music

FACE THE MUSIC returns to Roulette! This time, spinning renditions in the new theater. The exuberant teens will present works by Angelica Negron, Kenji Bunch and Philip Glass.
Listening to Negron's "El Gran Caleidoscopio" is like looking straight into the sun and feeling the polychrome consume your bones. Negron, who hails from Puerto Rico, assembles dual melodicas and toy pianos with metal percussion, then fuses it with a string ensemble and wedges an ubiquitous bass-line underneath. Topping it off with amplified music boxes and teen, she then proceeds to refract our sound-scape into one thousand glimmering bytes.
