Brooklyn Center For The Performing Arts

Located in the heart of the Borough, Brooklyn Center with
its four theatres, from the 150 seat Sam Levenson Recital Hall, The New Workshop Theatre, the intimate 500 seat George Gershwin Theatre, to the magnificent, 2450 seat, art-deco Walt Whitman Theatre, presents hundreds of performances a year, many of
them free, and in a wide variety of categories serving the diverse, culturally rich fabric that is Brooklyn. Nowhere else can the Brooklyn community enjoy renown artists at such exceptionally low prices.

The Center, now in its 45th season, presenting performances in classical music, fully staged operas, the great ballet troupes, modern dance, popular artists in concert, Caribbean Concerts, state-of-the-art cinema featuring
our Sneak Previews series, and the best children's programming
to be found anywhere in the outer Boroughs.

The Center is also very proud of its commitment to the community by offering a place that is truly theirs. The theatres are opened to community groups, Churches, and organizations that want a place to meet or perform and at affordable rental prices and yet have the assistance of a professional production staff to make their performance an outstanding event – this is our series of Community Showcase events. Many of Brooklyn's community groups have found a welcome home at Brooklyn Center.
