"Mysteries in Stone: A Survey of Lithic Sites in the Hudson Valley, Shawangunk and Catskill Mountains." Friday, February 10th, 7-8:15pm. Some consider the northeastern US to be home to the largest collection of astronomically aligned stone construction to be found anywhere. Who built them, why, and when? Upstate New York resident and NEARA researcher Glenn Kreisberg will present and discuss sites in the Catskills, Shawangunks, and Hudson Valley consisting of cairn fields, standing stones, chambers, megaliths, alignments, dry stone walls, and more. Glenn will have copies of his book Lost Knowledge of the Ancients for sale and for signing. Children ages 12 and up are welcome. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. This program takes place at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center and is a free program.
