Shirley Romaine: Bitter Herbs And Honey

in conjunction with the exhibition Yonia Fain: Remembrance, actress Shirley Romaine creates a performance including Yiddish, Israeli and American Jewish women poets and writers such as Kadya Molodovsky, Rachel Korn, Celia Dropkin, Dahlia Ravikovitch, Leah Goldberg, Lila Zeiger, Muriel Rukeyser, Grace Paley, Marge Piercy and Beyla Gottesman, Shirley Romaine will share their works expressing themes of love, longing, loss, hope and joy. Through the intimate thoughts and experiences expressed in these poems, the writers bring us a history of Jewish women in the 20th century.
