The Atkins-Barnes Homestead and Veggie Farm is located in Middletown, Connecticut. The home was built in or around 1730 by Benjamin Atkins and his wife Elizabeth Barnes Atkins. Originally their farm spanned 150 acres. It has now been reduced to just over two acres.
The Saltbox-style home has retained much of its original interior, including wide board floors and decorative paneling. The three fireplaces provide a wonderful warm environment as well as a great source for cooking. Current owners have spent countless hours restoring the interior of the home to near original condition.
