Sonny Rollins

As part of his 80th birthday tour, Sonny Rollins will take the stage at the Beacon Theatre on Friday, September 10.

This will be Sonny Rollins' first NYC concert in 2 years. He will perform songs from his extensive collection and will be joined by very special guests.

Grammy Award® winning Rollins has recorded over 90 albums. In 2007, he was awarded the Polar Prize, a prestigious international music award. In 2004, he was honored by National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for his lifetime achievement in jazz. Most recently, he was the first jazz musician to be awarded the 51st Edward MacDowell Medal — awarded to artists who have made an outstanding contribution in his or her field.
