The New Haven Museum is pleased to present a series of programs that celebrate Black History Month. Carolyn Ivanoff will discuss the life of Ebenezer D. Bassett, first black ambassador of the United States in a lecture entitled “The Life and Times of a Quiet American Hero.” Bassett was born in Derby, Connecticut and later worked as a schoolteacher in New Haven. Carolyn Ivanoff is a Housemaster at Shelton Intermediate School.
