Third Book Productions presents BROKEN FENCES: Breaking The Cycle of Abuse,
Wednesday April 27, 2011, five pm – eight pm 5 – 8 at the Stetson Library, 200 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT.
Poets, dramatists, visual artists and musicians will shine light on the victimization and sexual violence against children and women in the private places and public institutions. An artistic feast containing messages of healing and tools of liberation will be served.
Participating presenters include: Autumn Ashante, 12 year old UCONN freshman, who has been writing and reciting poetry for 5 years and presented at the United Nations World Youth Days, New Haven poets Cody Norris (Leviticus), Shamant Little (Influence), Suselle, Gigi, Sheila, Midnight, Kwalo, Frederick Douglas, Adam and Sheik Abdul, Skribe, Frontline Souljaz. Visual art exhibition by Shana Melton. A thematic CD compiled by participating artists, some of whom are survivors, will be available at the event. This event is a free family affair for all ages. Children’s activities are planned. Light refreshments will be served. .
Streater and Norris, co- founders of Third Book Productions are both parents of young children who are concerned about the welfare of all children.
