Very few bands have ever reached the musical heights of Jay and the Americans. From 1962-1971, this group charted an unprecedented 12 Top 10 records. With three original band members - founding member Sandy Yaguda (a.k.a. Deane), original member Howie Kirschenbaum (a.k.a. Kane), and original member Marty Kupersmith (a.k.a. Sanders) - plus the addition of "Jay" Reincke (the third Jay and probably the best yet), the group has recreated the authentic sound of all their great hits that everyone remembers.

Jay and the Americans' first release was "Tonight" (1961, from the Broadway musical West Side Story), and their breakout hit song was "She Cried" (1962). The group's next hit was "Only in America" (1963), followed by Top 10 hits "Come a Little Bit Closer" (1964) and later "This Magic Moment" (1969). Other blockbusters included "Cara Mia" (1965), "Sunday and Me" (1965), and their version of "Walkin' in the Rain" (1970). No other band in history has sold more copies of "Some Enchanted Evening" than Jay and the Americans.

Jay and the Americans have toured with such legendary artists as Roy Orbison, The Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. The band was a major force in starting the rock 'n' roll revival with their album Wax Museum (1970), on which they paid tribute to many treat rock 'n' roll artists by performing unique versions of their songs (including "Walkin' in the Rain," "Hushabye," and "This Magic Moment"). Today, Jay and the Americans stand more than worthy of tribute themselves - they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, placing them among the greatest vocal groups in rock 'n' roll history.
