PLAYING THE NATIVE AMERICAN STYLE FLUTE
A Comprehensive Workshop for Beginners
Sat., Feb. 12, 2011, 1:00-4:30 PM $69
Cathedral Parkway, NY City, NY
Join Werner John for an afternoon of instruction on a simple, lovely-sounding instrument: the Native American style flute. Anyone with breath and fingers can learn to play the gentle flutes of the First Peoples-- and most will soon find themselves making rewarding music. Playing these flutes, whether in solitude or with others, can evoke deep peace. Their haunting tonal quality reminds us of an ancient past closer to the natural world.
The workshop will include several group lessons as well as covering the flutes' history, construction, traditions and musical styles. Flutes in G will be provided for the lessons, and Werner John's hand crafted flutes in all keys may be purchased or ordered afterwards.
Pre-register at www.flutewalker.com Limited to 8 participants.
