Evelyn M. Hershey, the Education Director of the American Labor Museum will present a program on Paul Robeson and his role in the Civil Rights Movement. Paul Robeson was the son of a former slave, born and raised during a period of segregation, lynching and open racism. An acting career allowed him to speak up for independence, freedom and equality for all people both abroad and in the U.S.. His outspokenness destroyed his acting career and livelyhood but, he remained true to his philosphy.
