Backyard Chickens

The Zander Family of Front Yard Coop will kick off a series of workshops on keeping backyard chickens.
Class 1 (3/17): You'll learning everything you need to know about getting chicks and starting your own backyard flock. The class will also focus on the healthcare of your chickens, the different illnesses that can affect them and how to prevent and cure.
Class II (4/21): You'll learning everything you need to know about getting chicks and starting your own backyard flock. This class will also focus on genetics - you can bring your birds, and we will look up the Standard of Excellence for each bird we see, and talk about how to breed for certain characteristics--what to look for, dominant traits, etc.
